The Welch family of Hampshire County included Rev. War Patriot Isaac Welch, whose son William F. (also known as Preacher Billy) kept a detailed Bible. The Bible is accounted for through about 1966, and was last known to be in the possession of Pete Welch in Hampshire County.
I am working on "proving" this line so I -- and the rest of the Welch descendants -- can join Colonia Dames and Sons of Colonial Wars.
Does anyone know where the Bible is? Does anyone have anything that documents this Welch family -- Dempsey, John D., etc? My great-grandmother was Louella Jane Welch (married name Oates.) With thanks, Louella Jane Mitakides
