Dan
Thanks for the offer...the document is listed in a book by William Rice and is called "An Index of the Estate Records in the basement of the Hanpshire County Court House from 1754 to 1870 with a partial index from 1870 throught 1884." It appears the author was allowed to index these old records that have yet to be microfiled and are not in the LDS or the West Virginia Archives....the book lists a Samuel Grafton with an 1815 Appraisement....thats all...and thats why the courthouse staff will not help in finding it...I think the spelling of the last name may be off...and may be something like "Grofton" or "Crafton"....let me know if you find anything and I will refund you for any costs...you can contact me at cyborgh8@yahoo.com
