Most of the Moores in Clintwood, VA are from my Moore clan. I've even been to this man's grave, which is in a tiny family cemetery secluded on a mountaintop. Nobody in Clintwood seems to know his parents or siblings, and there's no way he ended up in that cemetery unless he was kin. He has to belong in my Moore family, but who were his family members?
LEONARD MOORE, 92, OF 810 MAIN ST., MAN, Logan County, died May 4, 1988, at home after an apparent heart attack. He was a retired merchant and miner. He was former owner and operator of East End Grocery, Man. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of UMW. Surviving: daughter, Jettie Messer of Man; son, Daniel of Garretsville, Ohio; sister, Rachel Clark of Barboursville. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Cumberland Church of the Brother, Blowing Rock, Va., with the Rev. L. Myers Mullens officiating. Burial will be in Newberry Cemetery, Skeetrock, Va. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, Man, and one hour prior to service at the church. Miller Funeral Home, Clintwood, Va., is in charge of arrangements in Virginia....
