Ginny, I haven't yet found him in a WV census. Since you know he was b. in KY, that must mean you did find him!
Yes, if he was indeed one of my Moore family, he was almost certainly born in KY, but likely in Pike County. Family members never went to Owsley or Jackson counties. All of the others in that cemetery were either born right there, or they were born in Pike, which is just across the mountain. One family had a Moore whose first family went to Floyd Co., KY and on to Adams Co., OH. His second family lived near that cemetery all of their lives. I've researched this Moore family completely and thoroughly, for near ten years. Neither Leonard, nor Rachel shows up on any known family member's census in either 1900, 1910 or 1920. Yet there Leonard is, buried more than 100 miles from where he died, and in one of the most isolated little family cemeteries in the Appalachian Mountains. Not even the local people have a clue as to who he is.
