Kissinger - Westmoreland, PA/Monongalia, VA/ Kanawha, WV

I am a descendant of George and Mary Kissinger. George was born in approximately 1807 in Pennsylvania/Virginia and died on December 21, 1855 in Carter County Kentucky. He was the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Kissinger and the brother of Joseph Kissinger (born abt 1795) and probably Samuel Kissinger (born abt 1814) as well as an unknown sister born around 1815. Benjamin and his family are found in the extreme Western area of Pennsylvania in Westmoreland County in the 1800 census, Fayette County, PA in the 1810 census and Monongalia County Virginia (now West Virginia) in the 1830 census. My great-great grandfather, George Kissinger listed his occupation as teacher/prefector. Their children were: Amanda, Elizabeth, Mary, Rebecca, Ruhaney, Henry C., George, Margaret, Martha and William Leroy (my great-grandfather).

I can't find any links between my branch of the Kissinger family and those in more eastern Pennsylvania.

If you have any information or insight you might share, I would be greatly appreciative since West Virginia records aren't the most open and documented.

Thanks much!

Susan
