Hi, our Annual Damron Reunion at Cabwaylingo State Forest, Lincoln Dist, Wayne Co, WV, will be starting on August 8 and lasting the whole week until August 13th on Saturday when we will have our Big Bash.
This reunion started about 1994 or 1995 and was held at the end of May, and just called the Damron Reunion, promoted by members of the DDFA (Damron-Dameron Family Association). We still have a handful of the original genealogists who started coming here.
Last year, we were able to change the month to the 2nd week of August. We also had a group of Copley genealogists come join us, and we had a nice week. Cindora and I, Rhoda, decided to change the name to Damron, Marcum, Copley Reunion to take fuller advantage of the names that seemed to interlink with each other in this area of the world.
Cindora Damron Creasman and I, Rhoda Marcum Burks, invite you to come spend some time with us, either for the week, or you can just come by for an evening to go cemetery hunting, or visit in our genealogy wing of the camp.
The prices are $100 for one person (this includes 2 meals a day, breakfast and supper), and for 2 people or family groups, the price goes down per person.

Schedule for week of the Damron, Marcum, Copley Reunion at Cabwaylingo CCC Camp:
August 8, Monday: the camp opens at 2 pm, Damron Reunion starts!
We will be at camp all day after it opens, in case anyone needs assistance.
(** We would like everyone coming to bring a covered dish, disposable containers, please. Any type, meat dishes, casseroles, dessert, or salads.)
1. abt 4 PM-Go to Marcum Cemetery, Tick Ridge, up from the barracks
2. 6-7 PM, evening meal, using meat tray, and dishes donated by contributors.
3. After meal: Sit around and introduce ourselves and how we all started with genealogy. Anyone that would like to do anything else genealogy-wise
August 9, Tuesday: Breakfast: 8-9 AM
Martin Co KY courthouse, for 1/2 the day
1. Show anyone interested where Warfield Cemetery is located
2. Go to Sol Perry Cemetery on Coal Haul Rd.
3. Evening meal: 6-7 PM
4. After meal, genealogy gathering
August 10, Wed'day: Breakfast: 8-9 AM
Lawrence Co KY courthouse
1. Visit Pinehill Cemetery if anyone interested.
2. Evening Meal: 6-7 PM
3. After meal: Genealogy gathering
August 11, Thursday: Breakfast: 8-9 AM
Wayne Co WV, courthouse-Open long day today.
1. Also the Wayne Co Genealogy society is open today.
2. Wayne Public Library-just abt 4 blocks down the street that the WC Genealogy society is on, will be on right side of road.
3. Evening Meal: 6-7 PM

August 12, Friday: Breakfast: 8-9 AM
Mingo Co WV courthouse & Library next door, also Coal House
1. Isaac Marcum Cemetery, across from Hobert Crum's
2. James Wayne Damron and family are coming in Friday to visit and staying Friday night with us.
3. Evening Meal: 6-7 PM
4. After meal: Genealogy gathering
August 13, Saturday: Breakfast: 8-9 AM, James Wayne & family doing the honors
1. Prepare some dishes for the bar-b-q this morning
2. 2:00 PM-Big Bash Bar-B-Q, hosted by James Wayne and Frank Damron.
James Wayne coming down with cooker, and will have various meats cooking. We will donate the meat products. Everyone else need to do a dish of some sort, or dessert.
You can even buy prepared foods from the area Walmarts if you desire.
3. Have to leave out of camp this evening.
