I recently discovered new information (new to me, at least :-)) concerning my wife's GG Grandfather, William H. KING (1827-1892), married to Mary Ann WALLS (1832-1872) and then Elma McCOLLUM (1848-1893).
I have been able to confirm his parents as John & Elizabeth KING -- which differs from many researchers, including the Edward Thorp King book, "Some Early Families in Grant and Pleasant Districts, Preston County, WV," which all stated William's parents were Valentine and Ruth (FLEMING) KING. Wrong!
I also discovered a little bit about his service during the Civil War, although only a peek.
I am seeking others interested in William and his family. I will gladly share what I have (including information directly from William's Family Bible, which I have). Send me a note if you are interested. Thank you.
