My cousin, R. Doyne Halbritter was a Preston County Historian. When he died in 1976, he sent me stacks and boxs of Preston County notes. Many had no source indicated, and often were carbon copies of typed messages he had sent someone else.
Twenty years later, with the advent of the computer data base, I and my granddaughters entered everything possible into a huge database. When Possible, we provided sources. I always warn people that my database is only a guide for them to look for the answers.
In my data base I showed John King married Elizabeth Shaw 29 August 1811 in Monongalia County.
Then a 2nd entry, John King and Elizabeth (no last name) had a daughter Phoebe Ann King in 1829.
Back to Valentine King and Ruth Fleming, I was shocked to find a daughter Phoebe born 1829. Clearly there is Opportunity for confusion.
Then as a Child of Valentine, I show Josephine King born 1830.
Do have a death date for Valentine King if the 30 Aug 1848 is actually John King?
Do you show anything for Phoebe 1829 and Josephine 1830. ??
