1930 Census Record

I have a subscription to Ancestry.com and have found it to be very valuable to my research allowing me to search original census records. However, I am unable to find my ancestors including my deceased father, Leonard, in the 1930 census of Wirt County or Wood County. My surviving aunt stated they lived in Wirt County. I have letters dated 1931 with their address being Slate, WV but I can find nothing anywhere in any county in WV for this branch of Woolard. I have read each original page of the Wirt County Census and found nothing and tried a name search of Wood County. I have tried many numerous spellings including changing the first letter of the surname with no luck. The household included William Elmer, head of household, Rosa Bell (Lockhart), wife and children Arthur Alexander, Floyd Elmer, Leonard Monroe, Ida Lorraine and James Lewis. Does anyone have suggestions. Is there a rare possibility they were missed? I sure hope not.
