Eubank/Bumgardner Murder - Chilllicothe, Ohio l860-l870

Hi- My ggg uncle John thomas Eubank (B. June 3, 1831) was murdered at Chillicothe, Ohio, by a Bumgardner, whom he was moving from Ohio to Burning Springs, Wirt Co., WV. John Thomas Eubank was still alive in 1860 and is listed on the Augusta Co., Va. census, so I assume his death took place betweeen 1860 and 1870. I can't find him on the 1870 Va. Census. Any lookup in old newspapers, or anything from the Bumgardner family would be appreciated. There were a lot of Bumgardners listed in the l860/l870 census, so I assume that's where they became acquainted. Thanks so much.
