George W. Rockhold died March 16, 1914
An aged resident of this locality passed away at the home of his son at Red Hill.George W. Rockhold ,eighty years of age ,one of the oldest residents in the Red Hill neighborhood ,died yesterday afternoon at the home of his son in that locality.
Mr. Rockhold was a native of Wirt County, WV. where he was engaged as a farmer for a number of years , but for sometime past had been staying with his children on account of his age. The remains were brought to this city to the undertaking establishment of Leavett and company where they were prepared for burial and will be taken to Standing Stone on Wednesday morning over the Little Kanawha R.R. where the funeral services will be held in the church at that place and the interment will be made in the family graveyard.
Mr. Rockhold is survived by his venerable wife (Samantha Harris Rockhold)and the following children , Marcellus of Hockingport, Ohio , Alfred and Fredrick of Braxton County, WV. , Floyd and John of this city (Parkersburg), Benjamin and Reuben who reside in Wirt County, WV. , Jefferson of this city (Parkersburg, WV.),Henry of East Liverpool, Ohio,Mrs. Henry (Lucy) Moorehead and Mrs. Mary (Millie Mae) Sheehy of this city (Parkersburg, WV.) and Mrs. Mollie Kennedy who resides in Pennsylvania.
