RUTH LUCAS, 92, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born April 30, 1913 in Cabell County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Maggie Plybon Sullivan. She was also preceded in death by; her husband of 64 years, ALVA LUCAS; two sisters, Lennie Collins and Iree Hesson Stombock; and a brother, Luther Sullivan. She was a member of Southside United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Rev. Doreen Adkins of Mason, W.Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. “Dick” and Ruthie Lucas of Kenova, W.Va.; six grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Charmarie Adkins of Huntington, Christie Scrivner of Huntington, Randall and Julie Adkins of Union, Ky., Scott and Tina Lucas of Kingsport, Tenn., Natalie and Rodney Campbell of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Patrick and Paula Lucas of Barboursville, W.Va.; two stepgrandchildren, Joe Adams and his wife Nikki and Kari Adams, all of Huntington; 12 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Elaine and Luke Adkins, Jamie and Jessica Ellis, Ashley White, Kyle and Jacob Adkins, Joshua and Zachary Lucas, and Steven and Samantha Lucas; and six great-great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hailey, and Caleb Maynard, Kaylee and Maddi Ellis, and Eathen Riggs. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2005, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Michael S. Chapman and Keith Matheny officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2005 at Chapman’s Mortuary.
