Recently, a loose organization of concerned Wood County citizens has come together to do something about abandoned & neglected cemeteries & grave sites within the county. Our first priority is to locate them all. I'd like to ask anyone who knows of any old cemeteries, family grave sites or native american sites to please contact me about them. We know of at least 300 cemeteries/grave sites in the county but are certain there are more. The location project will last until St. Patrick's day in 2009, when we'll hold another meeting to discuss our next step. Thanks to anyone who can help us in this difficult, but important project.
