This was not Alva's family. Alva's mother died when he was 2yrs old and his Uncle John S. Lucas adopted him. His father, Franklin Pierce, remarried again to a Mary Reger. They had 1 daughter Martha Jane b: 1922. Alva (Luke)was first married to a Lura. Not sure of last name could have been Carpenter,Stout or Gilchrist. I just can't remember (too young). They had a daughter JoAnn that was also raised by John & Nora. She married a William Board and had 2 sons and 1 daughter, Billy, Mike, Sherry. Alva & Lura divorced after only a few yrs. He married my mother (Mildred Lucille Morrison) in 1950. He passed away on Good Friday April 15, 1960 at French Creek,Wv and was buried at Lubeck,Wv.
