I presume that theMilitary medal was awarded for bravery....someone better than I may be able to help you with that one. As for researching your Foxton ancestor you need specifics, i.e his name that he enlisted under, His unit or number or rank and which army he was in. The photograph and your email never arrived. Again I must add that I only have information on soldiers who DIED during a war. However if your ancestor was in the British army then the first place to start your search is in the PRO in Kew.When it comes to research I fight the urge to guess or presume and most times I do I end up with egg on my face.
Remember, you must have "specifics" otherwise you will end up chasing your own tail.
