42nd Infantry , France, WW I
I have an undated post card mailed to my Aunt Leata,
which probably was mailed after the Armistice.
Its face features a tinted view of "The New Louvre", and the Arc de Carrousel, with a partial view of Tuileries gardens at the photographer's rear.
It was signed, "Your friend, C.C.Turner, Co. C,
42nd Infantry," and was posted from La Chapelle, APO 796.
The message refers to a friend, Ernest Clark, who "transferred to 9th Infantry, shortly after we arrived in France."
He also cites a trip to Paris where he "had a good time."
Aunt Leata Turner Bennett and I are both Turners, and my father was C.C.Turner, but not this C.C.Turner.
My cousin, Margie Bennett, and I are curious about both of these GIs.
Any information or guidance will be deeply appreciated.
Thanks.
