Google 91st AEF and you will find all sorts of informaton about its activities and even books for sale about it.

To find out what exact battle Patrick was wounded you would have to get his service records. There was a fire in 1973 at the NARA but not 100% of records were destroyed. Visit their website for more information. Also if he used medical benefits at any time copies might be available from the VA Adminstration. Contact your local VA Office.

Another thing is California passed a Cal Vet Loan program thru the California Dept of Veterans Afairs and if Patrick used that program or the services of that organization they too should have copies of his service records to prove eligibility.

You might also try to see if he was a member of any Veteran's groups and what info, if any his local chapter might have. I believe the VFW is the largest.
