Are you sure he served? In the 1930 census for Harry the last column about Veteran Status is blank. Other people have "No" filled in or if "Yes" then eithr WW or SpA is filled in. So with it blank, unless you have other information he might not have served. He did, however, fill out a WWI Draft Registration Card which means he was not serving in the military when the Sept 12th 1918 card was filed. Filling out a draft card does not mean he was drafted unless his "number" was called up in the draft lottery and he reported for conscription and passed the phyiscal. WWI Draft Card filed in Benton Co. Arkansas Sept 12, 1918: Harry Lesley Knapp* living in Bartlesville, Washington Co. Oklahoma age 20 b. March 18, 1898, white, natural born, Truck driver for Wolverine Oil Co. Bartlesville, OK Nearest Relative: Blanche Knapp Bartlesville, Washington Co. OK Height: Med, Build: Slender, Eyes: Blue, Hair: Brown *I used the name Knapp but it is transcribed on Ancestry's index as Knopp. With the handwriting it could be read as Knopp or Knapp. He must have been traveling in AR and visiting family when he had to file the draft card as the census has him born in AR.
