FYI

In case you didn't find WWI Draft Reg card (name indexed by Ancestry.com) as Linn H. Bredley:

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918
Name: Linn H Bredley
City: Taft
County: Kern
State: California
Birthplace: Mercersburg, Pennsylvania;United States of America
Birth Date: 2 Feb 1887
Occ: oil worker, Fairlankers(?) Oil Co., Taft CA
Tall height/medium build; brown eyes/brown hair
Race: Caucasian (White)
Roll: 1530795
DraftBoard: 2
June 5, 1917
Kern County CA

Having a WWI Draft Reg Card isn't the same thing as enlistment paperwork. All men of a certain age except those already in military were required by law to register. Having a card for Linn suggests he enlisted some time after June 5, 1917.

Ancestry.com is running a free promotional for their military records database(s) until D-Day [June 6]; I looked but didn't find anything for Linn. You may want to have a more thorough look.

Have you tried locating the Veteran's Rep for Taft CA? He/she may be able to suggest an alternate source of info.
Also, many units have their own organizations. VFW, American Legion, etc could be possible source too.

Don't be too discouraged about not getting your hands on military records. Most of the WWI ones I've seen are very short [& boring]. They pretty much just show, in military lingo, unit numbers, transfers, etc. Not too much of substance for a genealogist/family historian.

Best of luck!
