Rev. W.I. Daniel , of Milan, received a cablegram Friday announcing that his son, Mr. Henry P. Daniel, had been killed in action on the battle front in France. No details were given.
Although quite a number of Dodge County boys are with the American army in France and have participated in the fighting on the Western front, Mr. Daniel is the only one so far to give up his life for his country. He was wounded several months ago, a part of his tongue being shot away, but had recovered, and was again in active service. ( Ref.Dodge County Times Thursday June 13, 1918)
