I am looking for any info on Elbert Daniel Cody WW I soldier with 5th division. I know he fought in France. I would like to find his Draft information if possible, Elbert Cody was born in North Carolina, Stanly Co abt 1893 and died 27 Dec 1947 in Wake Co NC. I have a picture of him in uniform with his wife. He is wearing one ribbon and two other awards. The ribbon is Dark on each side and lighter in the center. Can't tell if there are any more colors because of the B&W picture. Can't tell what either is for sure but one looks like a circle of some type possible a wreath with crossed rifles. I am assuming this is his combat infantry badge. I can read US on the bottom but there is something on the top like a burst and I think there is a V in it possible for 5th div. I can't find anything like this in any of the sites or books I have looked at, the other appears to be something like the sharpshoter emblem worn today but all this is pretty blury when I get the picture blown up. He is also wearing 1 stripe as a PVT. I will email the picture if that will help to ID any of the awards he is wearing.
