I am trying to find out about my grandfather. As we understand he ran away from boarding school and joined up under age. A number of them went, Leo Pepper being the only name we have. We think he was a stretcher-bearer. He had various medical friends from the war, Oliver StJohn Gogarty being one. He may have used a false name. Does anybody have any suggestions? So far as we know he was gassed and probably invalided home.
