How do I find out more info on Grandad as soldier in WW1

I have, through help with a cap badge identification, found that my Grandfather served with the Somerset Light Infantry. I have managed to locate his medal card, however this doesnt give a theatre of war. Can anybody help me in where to go next??
There is a big gap from the end of the war to when he married my Grandmother in 1933..I'm wondering if he stayed on in the army.
