I have never heard of a "Vimy Band" in the U.S. before and looking at your other posts your Charles Swann did not serve in in the U.S. Military. So you are looking for England and or Canadian Military. All the genealogy subscription sites get copies of databases, books and microfilm from National Libraries or Archives. They then have employees transcribe, scan, and create databases that can be uploaded enabling those who subscribe to do searches at home or a local library.
Try your English/Canadian National Library or Archives to see what WWI records they have. Try your local LDS Family History Center and there is an internet genealogy site that collects databases people have submitted or transcribed.
