Hello Karen
Thankyou SO much for replying.
I think we share a common ancestor. My great grandfather, George Steppings, married May Kathleen Taylor on 30th November 1907 in Edmonton.I believe he died on 31st December 1960 in Tottenham but I don't know much else about him, other than his death certificate listed him as a "wallpaper pattern bookbinder" and that he was in the 4th Seaforth Highlanders. His daughter, Iris, was my grandmother. She was born on 8th August 1916 and died on 28th October 2000.
If you have any more information on him and indeed any photos or stories you wouldn't mind sharing I'd love to hear from you.My email address is [email protected] you know anything about his parents?I've drawn a blank when I've tried to research this part of my tree and the only Steppings' I've found that may fit the bill came from Cambridgeshire originally.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my post,
Kiren
