Francis Cahill, World War One Veteran

Hi,

My great grand uncle, Francis Cahill served in the first world war. Family lore suggests that he was wounded in action. Francis spent time at the Northport Veterans hospital, on Long Island, NY.

Previous to this entry, I wrote of him, and used the name Dennis. However, I wonder if his given name was Francis Cahill. Recently I found a 1900 NYC census listing my Cahill family, and all the right data. For years we have known him as Dennis, but now wonder if he also used the name Francis, as in the census.

From the 1900 census, I know that he was born May 1894, in Manhattan, New York. He possibly died in 1935, or around that time, and was never married. There are many pictures of him in his uniform.

I appreciate any help in looking for any Francis Cahill's who served in World War One.

Thank You,

Stefan
