Emmett L. Latham

Can anyone help me with [possible] WWI service for Emmett or Emmitt L. Latham? He was born in Mississippi in 1897, and I know he entered service. He appears in the 1920 census at Camp Jackson in South Carolina, and around 1928, I believe he may have been stationed around Cleveland, Ohio. Any information or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. He is a "lost" member of my family.
