Here's what I've found so far: Immigration: Joseph Daly arr: NY 18 Mar 1904, SS Cedric from Liverpool destination:424 43 ST, Brooklyn; to Uncle M McCann; last residence: Carron Ireland, (that's in County Claire); he had $5.00 and was in good health. WWI Draft registration, 1917: Joseph Daly, age 30 53 Greenwich St, NY b. July 25, 1886, Carmeglen?, Armagh Ireland Naturalized citizen Med build, black hair, dark eyes 1910 census NY: Manhattan Joseph Daly, 22,boarder, @ W. 19th St, Occ: bartender Imm: 1904; NA Joseph does not appear in the Soldiers of the Great War, or the NY casualties of WWI; I feel if he truly died in the War, his name would appear in WWI casualties/Missings, etc. The military records for WWI are pretty good, considering the enormous losses that we had; if you knew his other name 'J'> it might help...probably James or John...also, NY has very good WWI records; his name should at least appear on a Memorial, etc. But again, the Joseph J. who received the medal was an officer. I am not related. you may write to me at home. patty gtfetch@juno.com Notify Administrator about this message?
