Where does the death date of 1920 come from?

He was either permanently buried in France or retuned to the US some time in the 1920s.

We know from ABMC burial records that there is no Joseph Daly (or other possible spelling) of 42nd Div buried in France. Yes there is the US Marine Cpl Joseph Daley at Aisne-Marne - 5th USMC Regiment, 2nd Division He was not in the 42nd Div US Army .
