I am searching for information about my mother's uncle WILLIAM STOTT WHO WAS WITH THE 50TH INFANTRY AND STATIONED IN GERMANY (I think) at MARFM OR MARFON GERMANY
I cannot read what was written on the Post Card that he sent to my mother when he was stationed there..
I have several photo's of William in his uniform alone and at least one with a fellow soldier. and one when he was at home probably on furlough or just before leaving to go to war, this information I am just guessing at.
William was very close to my mother and her parents and she recieved post cards etc from him and she always claimed him as her "favorite uncle" all throughout her life.
I never knew where he lived, if he ever returned from the war (but I think he did).
Would love to recieve any information about him during his wartime service and maybe hear about anyone who knew him or about him during those years and also any information about him before he went to war and after tht time.
his parents would be: William and Anna (Darmon) Stott who came from England from Liverpool to Philadelphia. they settled in various areas in WEstern, pennsylvania.
children to william and anna stott were at least some of them
charles, thomas, elizabeth, ann(a) martha, clara, maggie, matthew(adopted son) and a few others that don't come to mind just now.
thank you for any information about William that anyone cares to share with me
