Hi, Here are the partial enlistments for the Ferrell brothers...at least I think so and hope so.
And here are some options to find out more information if the information below the ****** lines is correct.
Try contacting the State Archives of TN and also the County clerk of Dickson County, TN. Ask them for their enlistment and discharge papers (DD214).
If they had a military burial, contact the Sexton of the Cemeterys and the funeral homes who handled his funeral. They may have information.
If they received VA benefits, contact the local VA where they last resided and see if they have any information.
After you have heard back from all of the above, fill out the Standard Form 180 that you'll find in the site below. If you can get a sibling of the brothers to sign, that would be great. But if not, sign it and submit. If they give you the "fire" response, fill out the additional paperwork they send you as best you can. Follow up with them in about 6 months and keep track of when and whom you deal with. Supposedly only records of men whose last names began with H through Z were burned.
