Thanks for the additional information, Jack....interesting.

You are dead right: his full name was Worth Ross Lightfoot.

I have his naval rank...loose in my files someplace.

I still need to see what the local papers have on him.

My service was in the 985th Field Artillery Battalion,
II Corps,Fifth Army,15th Army Group, Italy.

We were a 155 mm (Long Tom) outfit.

My campaigns: North Apennines and Po River Valley.

Like you, that was many moons ago, but still vividly etched in the memory bank.
