First American flag to fly on Kwajalein WWII

My dad was involved in the invasion of the Marshall islands. My question is about the unit he was in,Gropac 4 Acorn 22? Iknow he was in the Navy, and he was attached to the marines. He was Stationed at Majuro and I believe he took part in Operation Flintlock Jr.I believe he came ashore on Kwajalein right after the Army took the island. I would really like to find someone from his unit, who could verify a fact for me.He brought home an American flag that has writing on the border. It says that this is the first flag to fly on Kwajalein and it gives the dates of the battle. (Jan30 to Feb 5 when Japanese resistance stopped 1944)This flag has been over shadowed by the Iwo Jima flag, but it is still the first flag to fly on Japanese territory.I am looking for any help in proving that this flag is the original flag that flew over Kwajalein. My dads name is Bernard (Bud)Danner.
