Hi Sharon, Mr. Johnston has helped you greatly. I checked the NARA site and there was an Eddie L. Gibbs born in 1924 in Alabama. And that is where the Mr. Gibbs that Mr. Johnston gave you resides. I also checked the Social Security Death Index list and I did not find Mr. Gibbs name. So I would definitely contact Mr. Gibbs.

I hope you find someone that knew him. I was so fortunate to come in contact by mail and in person with men from my Uncle's unit from WWII. Even got to go to their reunion this year. Hope you will be that lucky!!!
