The United States had about 16 million folks in it's military during WWII and many more than half were in the US Army. The only way to track any one of them is to get records that that person generated during his service.
Men who were drafted in late 1942 were born about 1920 so, any that are living are extremely old, few in number and not likely to be surfing the net.
There's no way to do an end run and find out what you want. You need paper records. Personell file, discharge paper, Veteran's Administration file, etc., etc.
