I'm trying to find the family of 2 Lt. Elbert Wilkie Schanke, ASN: O-742023, 337th Bomber Squadron, 96th Bomber Group, Heavy. 2 Lt. Elbert Wilkie Schanke was KIA on December 16, 1943.
2 Lt. Schanke entered the service from Minneapolis, MN on March 31, 1942.
He was born in 1920 and before he entered the service he was living in Hennepin Co. MN. He was a native of Iowa.
2 Lt. Schanke is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery and his grave is adopted. The adoptive family would like to get in touch with the Schanke family.
