1 Lt. Robert T. Cash 1919 NY

I'm trying to find the family of 1 Lt. Robert T. Cash, ASN O-1017443, Reconnaissance Platoon, 82th Airborne Division. 1 Lt. Robert T. Cash was KIA on April 28, 1945.

In a New York Times article of the "Latest Casualties of Army and Navy" published on June 24, 1945, it mentions the death of CASH, 1st Lt. Robert T., with his next of kin, James P. Cash, 26 Fort Charles Place, New York.

According to the 1930 census the Cash family was living on that same street (Fort Charles Place).

James Cash, head of household, age 38, occupation: Railroad Conducter
Helen Cash, wife, age 34
Robert Cash, son, age 9
Virginia Cash, daughter, age 6 (born April 25, 1923)
James Cash, son, age 5 (born December 2, 1924)
Eileen J. Cash, daughter, age 2 (born May 28, 1927)

Robert's father James Patrick Cash was born in New York on March 8, 1892.

NARA records show that Robert T. Cash was born in 1919. However, there are no births with the last name CASH in the 1919 NYC Birth Index. The 1920 NYC Birth Index does not list a Robert Cash but does have a few "male" Cash (unnamed children). The entry that best fits Robert is the "male Cash" born August 29, 1920, in Manhattan (and the parents were living in Manhattan at that time !!!)

I'm hoping that with this information someone can help me to find members of the Cash family. 1 Lt. Robert T. Cash is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery and his grave is adopted. It would mean a lot to the adoptee if he could get in touch with the Cash family.
