Co A 48th Armored Infantry Battalion WWII

Staff Sergeant Charles Kohler was killed in Roitzsch, Germany in 1945. I am looking for information on his company trying to find where and when he joined the company in Germany and the path traveled to reach Roitzsch. I was hoping that someone would have a relative that may have been there also and can fill me in. The U.S. Army no longer has his Military Records. Thank you.
