Info re BJERTNESS uncles KIA LEYTE & OKINAWA?

My uncle, Sigurd J Bjertness, Ens USNR was killed in action on 10/24/1944 when his ship LCI(L)1065 was struck by a kamikaze plane and sunk. His brother, Martin Luther Bjertness, Cpl. Co.B, 184thInf., 7th Army Division, was killed in action on Okinawa 5/4/1945. My mother knows very little else about her brothers' deaths or their time in the service. We would be grateful for any information, even at this late date. Thank you.
