Janice, I did a search for him in the registry at the National WWII Memorial website (web page address below).

There I found an entry for a Byron G. Robertson.
Hometown - Annville, PA
Service - US Army
The source of which entry is cited as the "Polar Bear Association of WWII, 339th Regiment".

The entry also says,

ACTIVITY DURING WWII
85TH INFANTRY DIVISION, CUSTER DIVISION, 339TH INFANTRY REGIMENTAL COMBAT TEAM, 3RD BATTALION, HEADQUARTERS COMPANY.
