KIRTLEY IS A DISCONTINUED POST OFFICE NAMED FOR EMMA KIRTLEY, POSTMASTER. M/M S. L. KIRTLEY CAME HERE IN 1891 IN A COVERED WAGON FROM OREGON, ORIGINALLY THE AREA WAS NAMED PLEASANT RIDGE, AND THE CEMETERY THERE STILL GOES BY THAT NAME. SHARON.
