Red Canyon is located near Evanston,Wy. in Uinta Co. and is the location of one of the Union Pacific RR mines. There was a large explosion in the mine, killing many--I think in 1895. Naturally, many of the Fins that followed the UP railroad mines were located there and I know the surname Maki was among them. Sharon.
