Dear Steve,
My ancestor Stephen Coupe born in Bolsover Derbyshire in 1799 left his wife and 15 children and sailed on the ship Horizon in 1856, presumably having become a Mormon. He definitely arrived in Salt Lake City as he is listed in the 1860 census - 13th Ward, Salt Lake City p.8. However, although I suspect he was with the Martin handcart company I have been unable to find his name on any of the rosters. If you have any information that may help I would love to hear from you...
Good luck with your project

Sharon
