Because of the age gap, I wondered if Thomas had two wives. I think he might have
1850 Census
Ray Co., Missouri
BLEDSOE, Thomas; 30, born in TN.
, Mary, 24, born in VA
, Sarah, 4, born in MO
, John, 1. born in MO.
1860 Census
Grape Grove, Ray Co., Missouri
BLEDSOX, Thomas, 38, born in TN
, Mary, 34, born in VA
, Alice, 13, born in MO
, John, 10, born in MO
, Mayet/Margaret, 8, born in MO
Mathny(SP), Sarah, 17, born in MO.
It looks like THomas and Mary's son John may be in Decatur Co., IA in 1870 census.
I can't find him in 1870, but I would bet that this Sarah Mathny(sp) is the one that Thomas married after the death of Mary.....
Still don't know who is father is though........
