Carl Albert Strand of Green River, Wyoming disappeared on his way home from work on December 7 1938. Carl at the time was carrying a lot of money. In the spring thaw Carl's body was found in the Green River, and the money was missing.
Carl Albert Strand was born 04 Mar 1881 in Sweden, he came to the USA in 1906. Carl settled in Green River, Wyoming where he lived with his wife Berta (Bertha) nee Bloomquist b 1889 in Tyngsrid Sweden. Together they raised 5 children. I have the census records from 1910, 1920, and 1930. Carl is listed in the 1920 census as Karl A Steward.
Carl and Berta's children are Carl Bertil Strand b.1905 in Tingsryd, Sweden and died in 1973 in Los Gatos, CA. Albert Erik Strand b. 1909 and died in WA. Jacob Leonard Strand b.1911 and died 1943 in Alameda, CA. A girl Edith L Strand B. abt 1908 married John Williams in Abt. 1928 in Green River and another daughter Singa Strand was b. 1914.
I would be appreciative of any newpaper article regarding the death of Carl Strand or any other information on the Strand family in Green River, Sweetwater, Wyoming.
