Marion "Marty" Oscar Martin 23 Apr 1916 Hayden, CO went to school in Wheatland, WY -- married high school sweetheart Gertrude Ellen "Ellen" Marron 15 Aug 1939. They had no children, but many, many nephews and nieces. Marty worked for Lockhead Martin and Douglas Aircraft. He and Ellen retired in Wofford Heights, CA where he died of Alzheimers 8 Oct 2001.

CWO-4 (Ret) Navy Melvin "Bud" Luther Martin 22 Dec 1917 Hayden, CO went to school in Wheatland, WY -- married 1. Penny Lillian Dye when she was 16yrs old. 5 Dec 1937 (D) (one dau) 2. Betty Jane Theresa Tanner 16 May 1955 (D) (four dau, 2 son) 3. Mary Rosalea Gaines. He had seven children accounted for in marriages. He and Betty retired to Boise, ID 1968. He died of Parkinsons Disease 24 Oct 2005. He was a Navy Chief, then worked for Boise State University until he retired again.

Gilbert "Gib" Lester Martin 1 Mar 1920 Hayden, CO went to school in Wheatland, WY -- married his high school sweetheart Pearl Elizabeth Robinson 3 May 1941. He and his brother Marty hung out together with their gals in school. They had two children. He died of cancer 30 Nov 1970. He was an avid bowhunter and won many tournaments with his wife Pearl.

George Warden Martin 26 Feb 1924 Wheatland, WY. He died 15 Oct 1926. He was born and died in Wheatland, WY. He died of a childhood illness, but family records don't state what.

Velma Joy Martin 17 Aug 1928 was a twin Wheatland, WY. She died shortly after birth.. probably 17 Aug 1928. She was born and died in Wheatland, WY.

Their parents were Calvin Luther Martin 2 Aug 1896 25 -- Sep 1979. and Cherry May Mitchell 19 Jun 1899 -- 27 Jun 2000.

Luther born in Decatur, AR apprenticed in a printer's shop in Springtown, AR. He then moved to Cove Springs, AR and started setting type.

In 1912 he was sent to school in Locust Grove, OK where he quit school and became a printer. He stayed there for three yrs.

He met Cherry May Mitchell and married her 18 Jul 1915. She was born in Locust Grove, OK area.

They moved to Hayden, CO immed, on 16 Nov 1915. They homesteaded on Quaker Mountain, north of Hayden, staying for one year. He worked for the Routt County Republican Newspaper in Hayden, CO in the winter and McKinley Ranch in the summer.

From 1916 to 1922 he worked part-time at the Craig Courier in Craig,CO.

In 1922 Luther and Cherry moved to Douglas, WY where he was promised a job, but the job was given to someone else, so they moved to Wheatland, WY where he worked til 1935. They then moved to Nampa, ID. In 1946 they moved to Boise, ID.

He worked for The Idaho Daily Statesman (later known as The Idaho Statesman) until he retired in 1962.
