Did some research for you,
this is what I found.
John Kilgore is son of Asa Dell Kilgore, b. 18 Dec. 1882 in Kansas. D. 12 Feb. 1946 in Cheyenne. He married 18 Sept 1918 in Independence, Mo to Ethel Amy Moore b. 19 Jan. 1893 in Neodesha, Wilson, Ka and d. 27 Feb 1972 in Cheyenne.
In 1900 Asa Dell Kilgore is in Middle Creek, Miami, Ka with parents John H. Kilgore. JOhn b. apr. 1853, Cumberland, Ill. Died 1914 in Miami, Ka. John H. was first married to Amanda Melvina Shelton b. 10 Mon 1854 Cass Co, Mo and d. 1883 in Miamai Ka. Amanda was the dau of James T. Shelton and Celia a. Cockrell, and Celia the dau of Alexander Cockrell and Sarah Helm of Virgina. From census it appears that John then married Ida, last name ukn. b. Dec. 1866, b. Ka and that had children Ora, b. Mar. 1885, Phon (girl) b. Feb. 1891, Ka, Leota b. July 1895 and in 1900, Worthy Shelton a nephew age 16 was living with them.So it appears that Lenora and Asa were the only children Amanda had before she died.
In 1910 Asa D. in in Miami Ka. with wife Emma age 19.
1920 Asa D. is age 38 in cheyenne with Ethel Amy age 26. children Norma age 2 1/2 b. Ka and John Roscoe 2/12 b. Wy.
1930 Asa age 48 in Cheyenne with Ethel age 37 with children, Norma age 12 b. 31 July 1918

John H. Kilgore b. 1853 was the son of Mathias Kilgore and Matilda McGowen. Mathias b. b. 28 May 1827 in Ross , Ohio
d. 6 April 1869 in Miami, Ka
Matilda b. 8 Dec. 1817 in Fayette, Oh. d. 19 Feb. 1881 Miami, Ka married 28 Jan 1848 in Fayette.Mathias parents were John and Nancy.
1860 census, Mathias and family are in Fulton Co, Ill.
1870 widow, Matilda in Miami, Ka with children.
