Thia sounds very promising! I know exactly where Lovett is and if the info I have on Melly is correct, this is a good possibility. The 1900 census is the same as I have. Including the divorce papers of Charles and Mellie in 1902. The family always said that my great uncle Leonard, went West to log or break horses but mechanic does fit as almost all my uncles worked in mechancis of some kind. One of my uncle's is named Leonard Lee and one aunt is named Mildred. The only thing I can't figure out is Charles says his parents were Irish and the only Jennings Co. Youngs I found that could be the father says he was born in IN. Lovett plays a big part in the family history as all my aunts, uncles, and father, remember going to Lovett to visit someone. Maybe that is where Melly went after her divorce and before she went to someplace in California.
Thank you so much for this info. It is the best I have had in a very long time.
Wanda
