dornsife, frederick, was born in little mahanoy twp., jan 15, 1871, s/o samuel h., amd harriet (raker) dornsife. daniel dornsife, grandfather of frederick r. having lived there on the farm later owned by his son samuel and now in the possession of henry reed, son-in-law of samuel h. dornsife
daniel dornsife was born oct 27, 1792 and died aug 2, 1859, his wf ann (herb) are buried at the little mahanoy ch. he was a soldier in the war of 1812 (no pension to be found). children; susan married conrad raker, anna married daniel ranker, lydia h., 1837 died unmarried, rebecca married john raker, isaac, harry (henry) lived in kansas city, samuel h., dr. daniel lived a nanticoke.
henry dornsife, brother of daniel was born june 9, 1794 and died sept 3, 1867, his wife mary elisabeth fasold, born dec 18, 1799, died aug 13, 1873. children; john, william, elias, levi, henry, jonathan, died young, mary/polly, elisabeth, catharine and susanna.
these brothers daniel and henry dornsife were the sons of hessian soldiers brought over to fight in the king's army during the rev. settled in this country
fasold, valentine was a native of hessen, germay, emigrated about 1795, settled in whitehall twp, lehigh co. srv in the war of 181. in 1816 he moved to northumberland co. his tombstone read, valentine fasold, born in deutschland oct 6, 1765, died nov 16, 1824. he was married twice, his 1st wife being christina xander of whitehall twp, lehigh co. children; susanna married abraham wold, mary elisabeth married henry dornsife, john, the only son settled in richmond, ind., and died there. th e baptismal cetificate of susanna fasold is in the possession of her granddaughter, mrs. theo chester, d/o abraham wolf, and the following is written upon it in german scrip. susanna fasld, d/o valentine and christian, a born xander (in), his wf, was born into this world oct. 8, 1798 at 10 o'clock in the morning, in whitehall two., northampton (now lehigh co). she was baptized oct. 18 of the same year in the lutheran faith. sp. johannes slichter and his wife, catharine b. schriver, born dec. 28, 1775 died dec. 31 1858 was from lehigh co. she was the mother of catharine married jonathan kreigbaum, jonathan, peter settled in pottsville, george, lydia married samuel haup, charles of mc keesport, allegheny co, mary/polly married jonathan daughenback, joseph, sarah married george zimmerman, henr, died in rockefeller twp, mary ann married daniel kreiger.
