A descendant of Joseph Preston JR once told me that when old Joseph died, he left his property to JR. The other sons got mad, left the area, and changed the spelling of the name. As you know, the original spelling was YEADON. The funny thing is, in my grandfathers family, 3 sons each spelled it different: the oldest spelled it YEADON he said "because that was the original splling", the man who settled in KY spelled it YADEN, my grandfather started his family in Union Co. TN and spelled it YADON. But we are all descendents of Joseph Preston.
